Readability first
The best subtitle font is the one your viewer never notices. Aim for:
- High x-height โ letters read well at small sizes.
- Medium to bold weight โ thin fonts disappear over busy footage.
- A subtle outline or shadow โ guarantees contrast on both light and dark scenes.

In the editor you can switch fonts, weight and outline in the Properties panel and see the change instantly over your own video.
Don't forget the safe area
Even a beautiful font fails if it sits under the platform UI. Keep captions within the safe area โ the layout engine does this automatically, but when you reposition manually, stay clear of the bottom 10% on vertical video.
